Mega Man 2

mixingmetaphorsoup There are lots of VGM cover bands, and lots of 'em tackle Takashi Tateishi's awesome Mega Man 2 soundtrack. Project X's rendition stands out due to its mix of styles and instrumentation, with most songs having some combination of synth, drums, and guitar, but each going in wildly different directions with the source material. Favorite track: Metal Man.

A. Keswick Back in yonder times, before I ever knew there were any VGM acts aside from Minibosses, Project X was the first video game cover band middle school me ever stumbled upon during one of my deep web Google trawls for Mega Man ephemera, and then immediately downloaded from their now-defunct website and filled my iPod Shuffle with. I've long lost most of my music from back then but their cover of Crash Man has managed to somehow stay on every device I've owned from then to this day. Favorite track: Crash Man.
